A Matrix T5x treadmill at a corporate wellness center in San Antonio stopped working after its power cord was damaged and the plug cut off. Testing it with the power cord from a neighboring treadmill proved the cord was the only fault. The site needed a 90-degree plug for its floor outlet, and that cord is shorter, so in August 2025 the treadmill was moved closer to the outlet, the new cord installed, and the machine calibrated and back in good working order.

A damaged cord, and a plug that had been cut off

The outer cover of the treadmill’s power cord had been cut, damaging the wiring inside, and the plug end had since been cut off. The question for our technician was whether anything else had been damaged.

Proving it was only the cord

Rather than guess, our technician tested the treadmill using the power cord from the treadmill next to it. It powered up and tested good in every function, confirming the cord was the only problem. The recommendation was a replacement power cord.

The plug that did not suit the room

The original cord was fifteen feet long with a straight plug, but the site asked for a 90-degree plug to suit its floor receptacle. The only cords made with a 90-degree plug are ten feet long, which would not reach the treadmill where it stood. The site’s contact decided to move the treadmill to where the shorter cord would reach.

In August 2025, with the site’s approval, our technician moved the treadmill closer to the receptacle, installed the new cord, calibrated the machine and tested it. It was back in good working order, and the issue was closed.
