Precor Treadmill and Elliptical Repair in Texas
On Site Fitness Service repairs Precor treadmills, EFX ellipticals, AMTs and bikes on site across Texas. Since December 2024 our technicians have logged more than 350 repairs on Precor equipment, from Experience Series treadmills to models old enough that Precor no longer supplies the parts, and we will tell you plainly which of those you have.

What goes wrong, from our repair notes
Walking belts that slip or drag
The Precor call we see most. We check the belt’s adjustment and tension, clean and lubricate the walking surface, and replace the belt when it is worn. Tension matters in both directions: a belt run at the wrong tension has pulled a rear roller out of place.
Motor controllers and error 22
On the TRM 800-series, a treadmill that will not hold speed or will not start can be the motor controller; we test the voltage going into it to prove the fault before one is ordered. On an older Precor that would not start with error 22, the cause was arcing and pitting on the motor brushes and a lower control board no longer putting out power.
Overlays, D-pads and incline
Speed, incline and quick-start buttons on the overlay or D-pad that stop working, and treadmills that will not incline. Not every error is a fault: one treadmill’s error was its stop button held down by the emergency tether.
RBK bikes whose resistance will not change
Swapping consoles with a working bike proved the console; Precor then traced it to the lower console cradle, and once the new cradle was in, it also needed a software update over USB before the resistance worked.
Older models and discontinued parts
Precor has retired parts for some older models. On an EFX 5.17i damaged in a move, only the power cord was still available, from Precor or any third-party supplier we checked, and the owner chose to replace the machine. When that is the right call, our sister company Discount Online Fitness sells used commercial ellipticals, Precor among them.
Warranty work
Our manufacturer warranty authorization covers Core, Johnson Health Tech, Spirit, FreeMotion, Icon and Echelon; Precor is not on that list. Our Precor work is repair outside the manufacturer’s warranty, quoted for your property before anything starts. Do you do Precor warranty repairs?
No. Precor is not one of the manufacturers we are authorized to perform warranty work for, so if your machine is still covered, check with Precor first. Out of warranty, we repair Precor equipment like any other, quoted per property.
Can you still get parts for an older Precor?
Often, but not always. Precor has discontinued parts for some older models, and we check with Precor and third-party suppliers before quoting. If the parts are gone, we will tell you before you pay for a repair that cannot be finished.
My Precor treadmill shows an error and will not start. What should I check first?
Make sure the emergency stop tether is seated and is not holding the stop button down; we have found exactly that on a service call. If the error persists, it needs a technician to test the motor, the motor controller and the lower board.
Why won’t my Precor RBK bike change resistance?
On the RBK 800-series bike we diagnosed, the fault was in the lower console cradle that carries the resistance control board, and the new cradle also needed a software update over USB before the resistance worked.
