How a repair works

From service request to a working machine

  1. Request service

Tell us the machine, what it is doing and where it is — online, or call 800-730-5802. A service coordinator schedules the visit.

  2. Diagnosis on site

A technician inspects the machine and identifies the exact part it needs, so the right one is ordered rather than guessed at.

  3. Approved quote

You receive a written quote for that property. Nothing starts until it is approved — urgent work included.

  4. Parts and repair

Nobody in this industry stocks parts for every machine, so most repairs are finished on a return visit once the part arrives.

Preventive maintenance

Silver, Gold and Platinum maintenance plans

A plan is three choices: which tier, how often, and how many machines. Gold is the most common tier and quarterly the most common interval — and plan customers get a reduced labor rate and a parts discount on repairs, set out in the quote.

SilverPreventative maintenance

Inspecting of all treadmill decks; adjusting all belts; inspecting elevation systems and moving parts, chains and gears; lubricating all visible pivot points; keypad function tests; inspecting all moving parts for signs of wear and tear; and calibrating and testing units for safe operation.

Strength Equipment

Inspecting of upholstery and all cables, belts, pulleys, upholstery and frames for signs of wear and tear; inspecting adjustment pins, guide rods, bushings, seat slides and all moving parts; lubricating guide rods and calibrating and testing all units for safe operation.

FAQ

Questions we are asked most

What does On Site Fitness Service do?

We repair, maintain and install commercial and home gym equipment where it stands, across Texas: treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, stair climbers, rowers and strength machines. Since 2007 our factory-trained technicians have completed more than 30,000 service calls in over 300 Texas cities.

Which parts of Texas do you cover?

More than 300 Texas cities, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin and San Antonio, where there is no travel charge. Beyond 50 miles from our office or a major metro area a travel charge applies, and it is stated in the quote. See our service areas.

How quickly can a technician come out?

We are usually out within 48 to 72 hours. If the repair needs a part, parts typically arrive in 5 to 7 business days, so a repair that needs one takes about two weeks end to end. Nobody in this industry stocks every part for every model, which is why the first visit identifies the exact part.

How is a repair priced?

Every repair, warranty job and diagnostic is quoted for that property and approved before work starts. Preventive maintenance is the one service priced across a portfolio of properties, with volume discounts.

Do you handle manufacturer warranty repairs?

Yes. We are an authorized service center for Core Health & Fitness (StairMaster, Star Trac, Nautilus), Johnson Health Tech (Matrix, Vision, Horizon), Spirit Fitness, FreeMotion, Icon and Echelon, so covered warranty labor is billed to the manufacturer rather than to you. See warranty service.

What do your preventive maintenance plans include?

There are three: Silver, Gold and Platinum, visited monthly, quarterly or bi-annually, with quarterly the most common. Every tier produces a machine-by-machine report, and plans are priced on the number of cardio and strength machines. See the full checklists.

Do you repair home gym equipment too?

Yes. The same technicians service home and commercial equipment, from a single treadmill in a house to a full apartment, hotel or health club fitness room.

Which brands do you repair?

More than 20, including Matrix, Star Trac, StairMaster, Precor, Life Fitness, Cybex, Spirit, Echelon and FreeMotion. That is a sample, not the limit, so ask about anything not named. See brands we repair.
